Where listings come from
We find electrical businesses in public sources:
- Overture Maps open places data
- New York State Department of State business entity records
- Electrician license lists published by local governments
Finding a business this way does not put it on the site.
What we check before a listing goes live
A business appears only after we confirm all of the following on the business’s own website:
- that it is an electrical contractor
- its business name
- its phone number
We show a street address only when the business’s website shows one address. We show a service only when the business’s website describes that service. Each listing shows the date we last checked it. If we can’t confirm something, we leave it off. We don’t guess.
Claimed and verified listings
Electricians can claim their listing for free to correct or add details. Claimed details come from the business itself.
Order and paid placement
Listings with more verified detail appear first, then alphabetically. Featured placement for electricians is coming. When it launches, every Featured listing will be clearly labeled “Featured”, and no paid placement will ever be unlabeled.
Corrections and removal
If anything on a listing is wrong, or you’d like a listing removed, use the form on our For Electricians page and choose “Correct my listing” or “Remove my listing”. We review every request.
